Kord Whisky BA, Hungarian Craft (with RIS and BW from Monyo!)+ Mikkeller, Omnipollo,etc.- Bottle share

Ok, this review (or maybe more like "first impressions") will be in english, because I got some beers from Hungary and I really want my friends that send me this beers to be able to understand what I'm talking about ;)

Dragon Fire- Imperial IPA- Pracownia Piwa
One of my favourite double IPAs was on tap. IPA with pepper. Every time I try this beer- its different. This time more oranges, slightly spicy, way more sweet than previous baths in my opinion, but still great.

Hallo, Ich bin berliner weisse (passion fruit)- Berliner Weisse- Mikkeller
Got a sample to try, nice, solid sour, but with nice fruity sweetness on beginning. Very good, very tasty berliner weisse. If you have a chance- go for it.

Than it was time to try out some Hungarian Craft.

Bakancslista #21: centennial- Single Hop IPA- RothBeer
Well, I have to be honest, and this beer wasnt good. First of all, huge DMS (DIMETHYL SULPHIDE) in aroma, in type of canned corn. Not good. Second of all, very low centennial hop aroma, killed by DMS and caramel-biscuity notes. Malty character of this beer was not too bad (as for lets say more east coast style IPA), but lack of hop and this strong DMS killed that beer. Well, it was not totall catastrophy, but was rather unpleasant to smell, and first hit of aroma was a killer.

Corvinus Rex- blend with ashu?- Serforrás Brewery

This beer was very interesting for me, because from what I know, it is kinda beer with added sweet tokaj Ashu, so in Poland it would be a blend of alcohol, not a beer. Also, so regional addition to the beer (and tokaj Ashu, which is expensive and not really avaible in Poland) makes this beer even more interesting.
It smelled as barley wine. Rasisns, huge sweet, molasses, syrup, dried grapes, overly sweet wine. Maybe not as great barley wine, but very interesting. In taste, it got a little bit empty, more caramely, biscuity, with very sweet wine on the finish.
One of this beers which have so huge aroma, that appears as a little bit waterish when you try them.
Very interesting beer, might not be great, but it's pretty unique, and in my opinion totally dont deserves that low rating as it got on ratebeer. It's way better than many other beers I've head ;)

Boris The Blade- Russian Imperial Stout- Monyo Brewing

I ve heard from my friend in Poland that this Imperial Stout is pretty good. Turns out, he was right.
Burned chocolate cake, nuts, chocolate- strong, nice smell, very roasty, not as coffe/chocolate forward as I'm used to with this type of beer, very roasted and a lot of cake-like notes. Very good for this low BLG and ABV (as for Imperial stout of course).
Similar story was in taste. Roasted bitter, very roasty notes, burned cake, some nuts, cocoa.
And it didnt felt like this beer is too light, or not intense enough- it happens all the time with so light imperial stouts.
Very good beer, Monyo should brew a heavier version of this beer, like 25+ BLG, and than age it in barrels. Might be a real killer.

Franky Four Fingers- Barley Wine- Monyo Brewing

A little bit of fig, dried fruits, honey, caramel, brown sugar, oranges in caramel etc etc in aroma.
Taste: big sweet of course, but light as for barley wine, and little bit dry on the finish.
Flavours of toffe, caramel, candied sugar, again hint of dried fruits.
Overall: decent barley wine, might be heavier, and kinda to dry on finish. Well made and tasty.

Kord- "Quintuple" Whisky BA- Jan Olbracht Browar Rzemieślniczy

Well, this badboy got a lot of hype in Poland, and have beautiful bottle, so why not share it? It's basicly cross between barley wine and quadrupel, so kinda like barley wine fermented with belgium yeasts.
Aroma: vanilla, candied orange, cinnamon, cloves, brown sugar, sugar-orange candy,  after warming up massively a lot of toffe, caramel, biscuity notes, more this orange-sugar candies.
Taste: nice sweet (after warming huge sweet), light orange-ish fruity note to it, vanilla, candied sugar, a little bit of spiced. A little bit of wood.
You can definitly sense this belgian twist here. You can definitly sense this huge barrel ad-on.

Great, great beer. For this price- really nice. Is it worth all this hype? Not so much... maybe If I not tried Buba Extreme in past, I would be way more stoned. Anyway: great, delicious beer, easy drinking, smooth.

Bianca Mango Lassi Gose- Gose- Omnipollo

Thats one of the worst beers this evening. Instead of mango smell, you get tones of fennel. A lil bit of sulfur. Nice sour, little bit salty, nothing to crazy. No mango at all, a lot of fennel... totally not worth to buy it. Oh, btw- there should be lactose in it... should be. There's more fennel.

Baran z Jajem- Imperialny Porter Bałtycki- Pracownia Piwa/ Browar Podgórz

How this beer nicely aged! When I tried it very fresh, it was more like Imperial Stout, with nutty, biscuity notes. Now, first what you pick up from the aroma, is very strong plum, porto notes. A little bit of soy sauce (have to be), dark roasted malt. Even (not sure) might be a little bit of licorie.
Strong, intensive baltic porter. In fact, reminded me of Põhjala Öö- esspecially in aroma- but to be honest, tasted better.

Ok. So to get some conclusion- the beer that I liked the most was Kord, it might be a little bit overhyped, but it's still bloody delicious.
Baran z Jajem impressed me as well. I love the fact that I still have another bottle ;)
From foreign craft, Hallo, ich bin berliner weisse with passion fruit was one of the best berliner weisse I had so far. Really nice. One of the best light beers from Mikkeller I had so far as well (Mikkeller's imperial stouts and porters are second to none, but most of the lighter beers seems overprized and overhyped- not that case).
Hungarian Craft- well, Monyo for sure have potential to brew some great beers, this RIS and BW are really good, very tasty. They should go crazy, make a huge BLG beers, like 25+BLG version of Boris the Blade, they should hop their IPA's way more intensively, and they will be able to match the top easily. So far I had 8 beers from this brewery? Something like that. Mostly flawless, easy going, nice and clean beers, but not enough hop in their IPA's for me (#hophead). Good brewery, worth to keep an eye on.
Beer with Ashu- very interesting, well, Ashu makes this beer, dominates aroma, taste. But for me, pretty oryginal and interesting stuff.
Centennial IPA- well, shit happens. DMS happens all the time even in beers from good breweries (which is weird because it's not that tough to get rid of it... -.-).

PS as always, even if my english is crapy, no fucks given.
